Are you legally ordained to perform marriages in Washington State?
Yes! I am fully ordained and legally authorized to perform wedding ceremonies anywhere in Washington State. I will ensure all marriage license paperwork is properly completed and signed on your wedding day.
How far in advance should I book you?
I recommend booking as early as possible to secure your date, especially for spring and summer weddings. However I welcome inquiries at any stage of planning — don't hesitate to reach out even if your date is coming up soon!
Do you perform same-sex weddings?
Absolutely — love is love and every couple deserves a beautiful ceremony. I am honored to serve all couples regardless of gender, background, or orientation.
Can we write our own vows?
Yes and I encourage it! Personal vows make for the most memorable ceremonies. I'll work with you to incorporate your own words seamlessly into the ceremony script. I can also provide vow templates and guidance if you'd like help getting started.
How long is a typical ceremony?
Most ceremonies run between 20 and 45 minutes depending on the package and any additional elements like readings, unity ceremonies, or personal vows. Elopement ceremonies are typically 15 to 20 minutes.
Can you perform religious, non-religious, or mixed ceremonies?
Absolutely! I tailor every ceremony to fit your vision — whether that's fully religious, completely secular, spiritual but non-denominational, or a beautiful blend of traditions. Your ceremony should reflect who you are as a couple.
What areas do you serve beyond Lewis County?
I'm based in Winlock, WA and happily travel throughout Washington State and beyond. A travel fee of $50 applies per 30 miles from Winlock for locations outside Lewis County. Contact me for a travel quote for your specific location.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes — a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding. The deposit is transferable to a new date if you need to reschedule.
What happens if you have an emergency on our wedding day?
Your day will never be left without an officiant. I have a fellow ordained minister on call as my designated backup. In the extremely unlikely event of an emergency he is prepared and ready to step in and perform your ceremony so your day goes on without a hitch.
Do you provide a microphone or sound system?
For DJ bookings yes — my full setup includes speakers and sound equipment. For officiant-only bookings I recommend coordinating with your venue regarding sound equipment, though I am happy to discuss options during our consultation.
How does the DJ booking work alongside officiant services?
You can book DJ services as a standalone service or bundle it with any officiant package and save $75 off your combined total. Contact me to discuss your vision for the reception and I'll make sure the music perfectly matches the mood of your celebration.
What do you wear to ceremonies?
I dress appropriately for every occasion. During our consultation I'll ask about your wedding style and dress code to make sure I complement your event perfectly — whether that's formal attire, semi-casual, or something that fits a rustic outdoor celebration.
